Oaklie ... 11/03/2014 ... 730pm Hey!!! Hope you all have had a great couple of weeks!!! I will probably just try to update on the week that Oaklie gets her treatment in the future ... unless of course something just hits me or O does something that I just cant wait that long to tell you all. Weve had a great month last month with Oaklie!!! Last Tuesday, we were scheduled to have another treatment ... But when the bloodwork came back, Os white blood count came back high which means her body was fighting some infection somewhere ... After all the tests and x-rays were run the doctors and radiologist felt like it was the beginning of pneumonia ... And we would have never known it for a number of days later because Oaklie had been really good and had no outward symptoms other than maybe just a runny nose ... The good thing was that the bloodwork caught it early and we hope she has pretty much recovered since the first of last week. My sister, Diana Mitchell, had a busy week last week with a wedding ... My nephew, Cody Mitchell married Jana Arrington on Saturday and O was suppose to be a flower girl ... Well that didnt work out because of the cold weather and the wind blowing and the wedding being outside ... But the wedding was beautiful and it was a fabulous day for our family!!! Congrats Cody and Jana!!! Oaklie returns to CHOA tomorrow for bloodwork ... And if all is good and the WBCs have come back to normal, O will have an LP or lumbar puncture or commonly known as a spinal tap along with her second treatment in our maintenance period. #2 of 24 ... Seems like a long way to go doesnt it? ... But I promise you that in January we never thought we would make weekly treatments for 6 months ... It took Oak almost 9 months but she made it ... And she did awesome!!! We just continue to pray that God will heal our precious O!!! ... And I thank you all every day for your prayers ... As I said before in my posts, me and Patti go out to eat or to Walmart or to the grocery store or even to eat at Olive Garden in Auburn, AL or at El Rio in Lanett, AL, we see people who always tell us they are praying for that sweet little O!!! Thank you so much for those prayers!!! God Bless You All!!! Love you much!!! Allen & Patti
