Obama’s Grudge Causing Shutdown The United States federal government has landed itself into a serious situation. The government has been officially shut down for over a week now, and there doesn’t look as if there is an end in site. While the shutdown is preventing some non essential government employees from working, it is also, it is also leading to a much larger problem coming up. If the government is not able to come up with a new budget in the next few weeks, the country will officially not have any money left, which means it will start defaulting on loans and run into other financial problems that is going to be extremely detrimental towards for the entire country as well. The entire situation is stemming from some Republicans in congress not passing the approved budget due to the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, as they do not find it constitutional to pass the bill when it is going to raise the budget and force the country to increase the debt ceiling. These Republicans want to cut down the budget before they approve it, so the country can start reducing the money it must pay out. However, Obama refuses to work with them, which is causing the situation. Obama reportedly predicted this would happen last year after winning his second term. He vowed to never again bargin with republicans. He told this to then advisor John Podesta. This grudge was due to the way things went during the 2011 impass. If Obama won’t let go of a grudge from 2011 that could destroy our country, what else will he do?
