Obedience can often be a scary word because it can lead us into the unknown -even if that unknown occurs 5 minutes into our futures or a turn around a blind corner.... Obedience is never about rules or obligation. Obedience is not begrudgingly submitting Obedience is never to earn acceptance Obedience is about faith, hope, and love and comes only through relationship. To be obedient means we trust and believe the promises of the One who loves us. We hope in Him. Obedience is a privilege- to listen to the Spirit of God and experience His love as He directs us through moments of the unknown. Believing He is always good allows us to be able to trust that He would never sabotage our lives. Walking in the confidence of the character of God is not only liberating, but it is empowering. It become a divine influence that causes us to be obedient. Obedience only becomes a burden when you can not fully trust the One you are obeying. God has never let me down. He has never failed me. He has never lead me to ruin or destruction. He has always been faithful to me even in my unfaithfulness to Him. He always redeems. He always finishes what he starts. Today we will be obedient out of nothing less than LOVE.
