Obedience is doing what youre told, when you are told, with the right attitude...anything less is disobedience. Ephesians 6.1 puts it this way, Children obey your parents in the Lord... Obey=bend in the direction of. Kids you need to bend in the direction of your parents counsel. You are going to follow somebodys advice...it could be your buds at school who dont know any more than you do, or your music, or fb posts...obey your parents. Paul said, Honor your father and mother... Honor=to make heavy. What your parents say should weigh more than anything else you hear. Now, we parents have to make sure Gods wisdom is pooled in our hearts so when our kids come they have something pure to hear and embrace. Parents have the responsibility and moral obligation before God to walk in his ways so these ways can be trained into their children. We need to give counsel worth hearing. We need to earn the right to be heard. I need more moral authority in my relationship with my children than, Because I am your father, thats why. I need to say, Because I am under Gods authority trust what I say.
