Obituary for Norman Yeater Rev. Dr. Norman D. Yeater, 50, of Cornwall, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, September 12, 2013 at Hershey Medical Center following injuries he suffered in an automobile accident on Tuesday afternoon. Born in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of C. Dean and Mary Evelyn Dressler Yeater of McAlisterville, PA. He was the loving and devoted husband of Heather Johnson Yeater for 24 years this June 17. In preparation for life and ministry, he graduated in 1981 from East Juniata High School in McAlisterville, and received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy from Elizabethtown (PA) College. He also earned a Master of Divinity degree from Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown, PA, and graduated Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2011 with a Doctor of Ministry degree. In ministry, he was employed as chaplain of Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra, PA, for the last 17 years. He was also serving as a minister on the pastoral team at Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim. Previously, he served as pastor in the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren in Pine Grove, PA, in addition to ministry to the broader church as moderator and board chair of the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three loving daughters, Rachel, Joanna, and Lois, at home; his maternal grandfather Kenneth Dressler of Mifflintown, PA; and mother-in-law, Helen Johnson of Daytona Beach FL. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Yeater, and father-in-law, Keith Johnson. Guests are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA. Interment will be private at Chiques Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday, September 21, from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM. There will be no visitation on Sunday prior to the service. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb Rd, Palmyra, PA 17078.
