Obituary for my sister Betty Jane Dahl Betty Jane (BJ) Dahl was born January 22, 1942 in Ingelwood CA to George and Betty Zambrana. She passed away peacefully on November 12, 2014 in Torrance CA at the age of 72. She was the oldest of 7 children. Her siblings were two sisters, Rose Montiel, and Beverly Stempson, and four brothers Thomas, Dennis, Richard, and Donald Zambrana. After graduating from Dorsey High in 1959, she married the love of her life Dennis Dahl on February 17, 1962. She is survived by her daughter Donna and husband Mike Hornicek, and son Robert and his wife Karen Dahl and eight grandchildren, Brandon, Adam, Evan, Ryan and Megan Dahl, and Kendall, Kyle and Kacey Hornicek. She retired from the Los Angeles Office of Special Education after 45 years of service as media specialist. She was loved by her family and friends and adored by her coworkers. BJ was a take charge lady who always got things done and was always willing to help others with a smile on her face. She loved everyone and especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by so many, but especially by her husband of 52 years, Denny. A memorial service to celebrate BJ’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday November 22 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 22605 Kent Ave Torrance CA. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Leukemia Society
