October 8, 2014 Moment of Grace Acts of Courage Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9 NIV The Christian produced movie, “Courageous” challenged thousands of men to change their attitude about their family life. Many churches and men’s groups held Bible studies taken from the film and had great results. Could it be that God created in men the desire to act courageously? Adam Mitchell was one of the male star characters in the movie Courageous. He gave a testimony that rallied men and in particular fathers, to arise in courage – being a godly father and husband. Adam’s line: “So where are you men of courage? Where are you, fathers who fear the Lord? Its time to rise up and answer the call that God has given to you, and to say, I will. I will. I will. Doesn’t it make you want to stand up and say, “I Will?!?” I believe God places people in our lives that exhibit the trait of courage and doing so causes us to arise to a level of courage as well. You could be that catalyst for courage today! Again a line of Adam Mitchell to close our Moment of Grace: “I don’t feel like I started well. I want to finish well.” Prayer: Father God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for creating in me godly attributes. Thank You for the fruit of the Spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Godliness, Temperance, Patience and for the bold fearless courage to face uncertain times and situations. Lord, You courageously came to earth as a man and in every point of life You were tempted and overcame the temptation! Lord, You enable me and every believer the power to overcome through Your victory! Truly I have Victory in Jesus! Amen!
