Officers from Police Transport Command (PTC) have arrested and charged a number of people with breach of bail, drug and knife possession offences during their patrols over the past week. On Friday (6 September 2013), PTC officers patrolled trains on the Central Coast and in Sydney’s CBD as part of a high-visibility operation. About 1.10pm, police were called to Gosford Railway Station following an alleged assault between two women. After making a number of inquiries, officers arrested a 29-year-old woman and took her to Gosford Police Station. She was issued a court attendance notice for common assault and using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend and is due to appear in Gosford Local Court on 22 October 2013. About 7.40pm, officers arrested a 45-year-old man at Gosford Railway Station for breaching his bail conditions. He was taken to Gosford Police Station and appeared in Gosford Local Court. On Thursday 5 September 2013, PTC officers attached to North and North West sectors patrolled 33 trains and 17 buses as part of another high-visibility operation. About 5pm, police were patrolling Parramatta Railway Station when they conducted a number of checks on a teenager standing near the entrance on Fitzwilliam Road. The 16-year-old was arrested for breach of bail and appeared in a Children’s Court on Friday 6 September 2013. Shortly before 5pm (Thursday 5 September 2013), an 18-year-old man was stopped for not having a valid ticket at Granville Railway Station. Following a number of inquiries the man was arrested for possession of a prohibited drug. He is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on 9 October 2013. Also, on Thursday 5 September 2013, PTC officers and a drug detection dog patrolled south-west Sydney train stations and transport hubs. About 12.20pm, a 20-year-old man was stopped at Fairfield Railway Station for not having a valid travel ticket and during a subsequent search, police located a knife. The man will be charged with custody of a knife in a public place and is due to appear in Fairfield Local Court on 30 September 2013. In another incident, officers located a 15-year-old boy at Railway Street, Liverpool, who was in possession of a knife. He was issued a court attendance notice for custody of a knife in a public place.
