Often time’s history gets missed of certain people who spent their lives trying to make a difference. Prince Hall was known for his leadership in the church, community and as the Father of African Freemasonry. What some people are not aware of is that he tried many times to petition the state legislatures in Massachusetts to start a public school system for African American children. He knew it was unfair for some to have access to education and others did not. After being turned down many times he started his own school program for free black children in his home. His son Primus Hall also joined his father in establishing a school in his home for the education of African children. This school was then moved to the African Meeting House which was a church. So often we are distracted by misinformation that we miss out on the real information of others making a difference.
