Oh How Great Thou Art Oh Lord my God when I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds thy hands have made I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder OK, so maybe a public confession is what is needed! My friends, another had posted a wonderful piano tune of the hymn of How Great Thou Art and it has been rolling thru my head ever since. On our Sunday morning hike, I told our songmeister Cliff about my quandary. He sang the hymn to me… and I thought that would clear my mind. Nope, no way. Here at nearly four in the morning I can still hear Lisa’s fingers tickle the ivorys and perhaps another confession will clear my head. It was back in Umpteen Whenever when I was a six year old boy. Back when Santa meant everything! My older brother and I would try to sneak downstairs way before the sun would shine and jumpins wouldn’t my parents’ scare us back into bed! (If Santa sees you he won’t leave any gifts!) Well, my gosh, that admonishment would freeze any kid under the covers until June. Well, this one year… I creeped down the stairs before my older brother… and guess what? Santa had left the wrong gift for my older brother! It was the cannon that I had so hoped for… so a quick switcherrooo had me playing with my cannon that fired caps and my brother playing with a road grader. I was in Heaven and my parents were in a quandary. Oh my gosh, they must have been beside themselves. When “How Great Thou Art” came on the radio. My wonderful parents told me that they had spoken to Santa… it took them three hours to come up with this scenario… (I was good…. Damn good) and I had to confess to the switch. I, I, I … oh my gosh I seriously am sorry for my dear parents for this quandary… and I hope that this public confession will allow Lisa’s tinkling of the Ivory’s to leave my head. Ok… this is going to friends and to Facebook. Maybe now I can go to sleep?
