Oh for crying outloud! I have been online 30 MINUTES. I have already seen FOUR missing off transport slipped collar dog postings! Does nobody have a bit of common sense? Do NO rescue groups instruct their volunteers and new adoptors about proper leash and collar use? ALL dogs newly adopted OR transports need to have a SNUG buckle collar with a tag on it (I used to have a collar and tag just for this purpose) that they wear the entire time they are in a car/transport until INDOORS and safe (and some dogs keep them on 24/7 the first couple weeks!) AND dog not allowed out of crate until a choke collar with leash already attached was slipped over its head. I do NOT care if you do not believe in choke collars I do not care if you think they are harmful. in transport and new adoption cases they will save the dogs life. They dont need to be adjusted like a martingale. You just keep a choke collar attached to a leash and when you take each dog out it slips fast over head before they can exit crate Methodology beliefs have nothing to do with keeping the dog in your care safe, especially when the dog is stressed, has no clue who it is with and may have driven a long way.
