Oh man, Republicans, just shut the fck up. Seriously, not a good time, Were trying to remotely get our way and at the same time piss off Russia economically and also trying to avoid a WW3 scenario in the forseeable future. All three being contradictory, and reasonably hard to accomplish when piled all onto one platter. I dont know if Putins trustable, I havent talked to him but because hes ex-kgb I know hes well trained in the arts of blended truth and tactical/strategic counter intelligence. The thing is that the Russians can take out Ukrainian military several times over now but theyre just waiting, sitting on it. Strategic movements for most Russian troops suggest that theyre digging in, maybe not permanently but in my mind I see the Russians as broke and they wouldnt want to do an Afghanistan or Iraq type of commitment..Im thinking that theyre going to generally just hang out until the Ukrainian gov gets all their stuff straight and maybe stay a few weeks afterwords to make sure everythings satisfactory to them. (In the back of my mind, I cant shake the image of Russia acting like a double-crossed loan shark right now)
