Oh what a night...Last night we played against Ravensmead B in our first Knock-out in 2 years having won the K/O (knock-out) or at least made it to the semis in the years we did not win it. We`ve become somewhat of K/O specialist, but needed penalties to overcome our opponents playing in the B division. Maybe that will trigger the wake-up call we needed after a dismal season finishing 3rd from bottom. We next face Kraaifontein City in the K/O on Monday night hopefully with a full regiment of players available. Last night was like playing a best eleven competition with both teams only having 11 players. Ravensmead having started with 10 men. We could however not take advantage of the extra man and squandered a golden opportunity in the opening minute with Hilton THE MASK Julies heading wide when it seemed easier to score than miss. Ravensmead seemed to be at sixes and sevens, but caught us on the counter and scored after 15 minutes with integrate passing splitting the defence wide open and leaving goalie Little JR helpless. Bona was rocked when from the restart at the second half as while still taking their places a goal was scored. A strong showing by Juanito(Gerrard) Adams and Elton(Vice-Captain) Isaacs in the centre of the park helped Bona get back to level terms with Isaacs scoring Bona`s second and Gerrard being involved in both goals the first being an own goal. But it was plain to see the surprise package of the night was the unfamiliar pairing of Frank (KvG) Adonis and Tessie (speed freak) Daniels. They had a good night and receive my men of the match award. Earl (Schmeichel) Hendricks saved 3 of 4 penalties and also missed one. Gerrard, P (Little One) Williams scored to secure Bona`s progress.
