Oichalia (in Greek: Οιχαλία -> E-ha-lía), and before 1981: Νεοχώρι -> Neo-hóri) is a town near Trikala City, located in central Greek region of Thessaly. In 2001 the population of the town was 2,936. Oichalia is located 20 km east of the city of Trikala. It is situated on the edge of the Thessalian Plain. Oichalia is known for its high immigration rates to European countries, and especially to Germany, Austria and The Netherlands.
