Ok, Facebook friends & family, I need your thoughts on something. Our kids think we have "too many rules". We have rules about cell phone use, having friends over, curfew, chores, behavior, etc. I need to know, what rules do you have in your house? What ages did you allow more freedoms? What are the consequences when rules are broken? What rules do you wish you had enforced? Have we as parents finally given in to the mindset that we have lost the battle, so we may as well just let them have their way? Side note: I think lots of rules (as long as they are not frivolous) are a good thing. Why? Because, at the early age of 16 when they start driving, there are more than 100 rules that apply just by getting a license! If they cannot obey simple household rules, what are the chances they will obey street signs, speed limits and not text and drve?
