Ok. I have been primarily off Facebook for the last few weeks, but since this is the month of thanks, I want to post a few right now. Overwhelming thanks to Ike McIver the wonderful husband of my dear friend Deborah Tucker who spent November 1 and November 2 on his hands and knees along with my sister Dottie Parr tearing up carpets/pads/baseboards and drilling holes in cabinet kickboards and moving furniture back and forth and back and forth. He worked himself into an exhausted heap and thats after he braved the insane difficulties it took to even get into Dotties neighborhood by shuttle bus and walking. Our family can never express enough gratitude to him for his selfless work. And on the 2nd, he was joined by Dotties good friend Harriet Grogan-Cook who also put in hard labor on the beginning clean-up of this house. This neighborhood did not have professional water clean-up crews vying for the business nor did it have country club meals provided for the displaced families. And although the Red Cross did finally show up, it wasnt easy in those first few days to find them or get to them. So I am so grateful that we had Ike and Harriet in our lives. Thank you. Thank you.
