Ok....Im going to go on a rant here. So please disregard the missed spellings and other things! Earlier today I posted and article about Clarion increasing their sports programs! And it really got me think how much more attention it gets. Dont get me wrong I am all in favor of sports! I participated in them when I was in high school and they do teach several things. But todays society ( schools, colleges and pro sports!) we put sports a head of education and I feel that is serious problem! Today we had an excellent performance by over 200 kids from 7 different school districts at our Clearfield County Band concert. Do you thing any of these kids will be recognized in the local paper, our the performance broad cast on the radio or TV. No, most school districts probably didnt even know this festival was going on. But if I asked most men, they would be able to tell you the scores of most college football games today. If we dont start putting education, the arts, math etc. before sports, we are going to have people that cant be creative, think for themselves. In todays sports world all people care about is the WIN and how much money they are going to make. I just saw where a ball player signed a contract for 235 million dollars ! Do you what a school district or college could do with that money to educate our children ! Also, our elected officials need to star working together help the people they where elected to represent! Im really tired of the crap that is going on in DC and Harrisburg. You where elected to do a job, so do it! Quit wasting tax payers money and do what you where elected to do, work for the people! Im not posting this to start a debate! If you think that, then you dont understand what Im trying to say. Thanks!
