Ok, another day, another disaster - well, almost. Having driven most of the way across Austria (not a nun in sight) and Hungary yesterday, I decided to spend the night close to the Romanian border, so as to get through bandit country in one go. The Hungarian guest house I found was lovely, and rife owner was really helpful. When I asked if my car would be safe where I had parked it in the street, he confirmed that it would, but also opened his double garden gate to let me bring it in, directing me to s patch on the lawn. After dinner, I checked the weather forecast, which was warm and dry, so I didnt bother putting the good up - only the map book in the front anyway. What mein host didnt tell me about was the Augusta Georgia standard sprinkler system. Spent the first hour this morning bailing the car out! Happily the tonneau cover bag is waterproof, , so I was able to sit on that to keep my bum dry. Just got settled in Sofia after 14 hours in the (by now dry) saddle. Night night!
