Ok, everyone, today was barely sunny and very overcast...still good because no rain (unfortunate, because I prepared for rain and cold and hauled all that stuff for nothing!) Leisurely breakfast because it is a three plus hour trip to Dublin and the car had to be returned by 5 pm. Did stop at Kells to see some old carved crosses and buildings (a round tower and bell tower) AND also a reproduction of the Book of Kells. Saw a couple pages of the real one in Trinity Colleges library set the beginning of the trip. A tip about driving....Dublin SUCKS because of all the one way streets and poor signage. I went back and forth and around and too far just trying to get from hotel to the rental agency (probably a 5 minute trip that took 15 or 20 minutes). Early-ish dinner at hotel bar...a giant hamburger with a ton of cheddar, bacon, onions, lettuce and tomato with some kind of chutney; also chips and onion rings. First hamburger in a long time! Back in the USA tomorrow...leave Dublin after 12 noon and get to LA after 10 pm...hope I can sleep :-) It has been a fantastic time in Ireland and still a lot to see. Blessed with great weather which made it a lot easier to do things!
