Ok, finally...executed...where is the justice? Yes, hes dead, - TopicsExpress

Ok, finally...executed...where is the justice? Yes, hes dead, rightly so. He said his body felt like it was on fire prior to his death, well, Id say he got off easy then. 1. Why did it take 20 years? 2. Why do we even care if it hurts? 3. Why do we immortalize criminals? They DO NOT deserve to be a part of our history, at all. Their names should be stricken from all records, everywhere. Just so its known....20 years of incarceration was somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million over that time period for this man alone. Death row is generally more than that, which is where he was. There are approximately 3088 inmates on death row in the US in FEDERAL penitentiaries. That translates into $426,144,000 PER YEAR in cost just to house and maintain these death row people (Wikipedia) Yup..the ones who have murdered our loved ones, raped our children and stolen our lives in general are bleeding this system to death, literally, no pun intended. (NOTE: I realize that there are privateers and corporations who are involved in the prison system, but as quickly as it was given to them, it can be taken away and the revenue restored to what WAS the strongest, most feared and respected country in the world.) Might I suggest a solution? Murder in the First Degree - Death by hanging, firing squad, electrocution Rape - Death by hanging, firing squad, electrocution Both within 30 days of sentencing. I realize there will be exceptions, but with our capabilities to prove guilt in this day and time, and when our country is on the jagged edge of falling into the worst depression in recorded history, I would think this would be a VERY prudent approach and solution to this problem.
