Ok friends Im going on a bit of a rant...... Its about the healthcare industry. So, I went to the obamacare website to see what it was all about. It was way too expensive so I went outside to other companies. The cheapest plan I found for me a healthy man in his 30s, was $280/month blue cross. And that was with a $3,000 deductible. So in essence if I want to avoid the tax penalty and get insurance it would cost me $280/month or $3,360/year. Not to mention if I went to the doctor at all I would have to pay the first $3,000. So thats $6,360/year. Or I can just not enroll in obamacare or any insurance and pay the tax penalty of 1%. Id rather find creative tax write offs to help with the 1% of my income. I can come up with more than $6,360 in write offs. So then I looked into the tax credits Mr. Obama is bragging about. Well, most cant qualify and if you can you still will have a high deductible. I talked to someone today 22 years old with part time job. Said he qualifies for tax credit and $100/month policy. I asked how much his deductible was he said $10,000. When I told him he will have to pay for doctors visits up to $10,000. He said oh sh-t I didnt know that. So I did the math, even if you are just over at the limit cut off of adjusted gross income at $42,000. Your tax penalty for not having obamacare is $420 this year. Thats opposed to a $100/month policy which comes out to $1,200/year. So unless you are in a state where you need to visit the doctors often or have a catastrophic injury like breaking a leg or something. Its cheaper to pay the tax, and save money for doctors visits. I havent found 1 person yet that has benefited from obamacare. So if you have benefited from it, I want to know. Please respond and let me know!! Im curious to find one.
