Ok, got an update on Valerie, my cousin that had a stroke last week. PRAISE GOD! She is breathing mostly on her own "over the vent" is how her mother put it; they hooked her to monitors to check for seizures on Tuesday, they removed it and cleared her of any seizure activity on Wednesday. She is still sedated, as they have a cooling blanket in place to keep her temp regulated, and she still has an infection. PLEASE keep the prayers coming! As good as things look right now, it is a day by day, hour by hour situation. Valerie is still VERY sick, and will be for a while. Only God knows how long it will be before she is fully recovered, but the healing has already begun. She had the craniotomy to remove a section of skull bone to make room for swelling, and Marlene (her mom) says the swelling was very bad Tuesday and Wednesday, but her eyes are looking more normal today. God is good, and He is in full control of this situation, but please, please, please continue to pray and lift this, along with other families with loved ones in this stroke unit, and those who are no longer there, in your thoughts. For it is only by the very Grace of God that more of our loved ones are not incapacitated by the aftereffects of a massive stroke.
