LAPTOPS, DRAFT CONSTITUTIONDOCUMENTS STOLEN FROM LAW FIRM Thieves on Sunday night broke into the office of former spokesperson for the technical committee drafting the constitution Ernest Mwansa’s office and stole two laptops and documents containing information about the draft constitution. The thieves broke into the offices of Mwansa’s law firm located on Mansansa close off Bwinjimfumu, the same road where Post newspapers is located. Some other items are also believed to have been stolen. Police officers from Lusaka district Criminal Investigations Department (CID) have told the Watchdog that the circumstances under which the break in was done has puzzled them because the premises is manned by a watchman who claims not to have heard the intruders. Controversy on the constitution making process has continued in the nation. At one time the Pf government denied having received the copies of the draft constitution while ceremonial vice President Guy Scott labeled the eminent team headed by former Chief Justice Annel Silungwe as a bunch of failures. Demands to have the draft copy released have mounted while President Sata who promised a people driven constitution to be enacted in 90 days after assuming office has remained mute and described the demands by opposition and civil society as mere yapping.
