Ok new internet home computer scam: Call centre: hello mam my name is Mary I am calling from Telstra Tech Services, we are getting a number of errors on our server from your computer over the internet. Please go to your computer so we can fix or we will have to cut off your internet Me: my internet is not with Telstra , so when did these errors occur CC: Telstra hold the main server for all internet companies. The errors have occurred over the past two weeks. Pls go to your computer and tell me when you are in front of it Me: I havent used my computer for a month CC: errors have come through your internet connection. You must go to your computer so we can fix. Or we will have to disconnect your internet Me: my laptop is at work CC: when will you be in front of it Me: not for 3 weeks CC: we will have to disconnect your internet then Me: no you wont CC: well I will have to talk to my supervisor to see if we can re look at your Problems in a couple of weeks Me: I will see if I can get my computer over the weekend from work. Whats your name and number so I can call you back CC: my name is Mary Bretanza. My number is 02-61004275. Please call me at this time so you can speak to me Me: ok thanks Ill call you when I have my computer Now I know Microsoft call centre phonies do the rounds but hadnt heard of Telstra So I rang my internet provider, he hadnt heard of the telsta one, he was surprised when I told him I got their name and ph no. So he checked the number and confirmed it is a scam. So who else is getting these calls........
