Ok, party and celebration is over, time to get back to work. Picking up my Martin D28-CW up from the 12th Fret Guitar Shop today. It suffered a partially lifted fretboard due to leaky glue and required some work. I will probably use this guitar for flat picked writing because the strings are a little too close together for fingerstyle compared to my fan fret which I have become pleasantly accustomed to. The guitar is way too nice to rot on my guitar shelf. I have 5 songs already recorded which only need to be mastered. The decision will be whether to have the mixture of acoustic metal and fingerstyle dance/videogame/folk style songs on one cd in the future, or perhaps to release two albums and keep them separate. I personally find mixed styles to be an interesting listen on a cd. At this point the contrast between the styles would be bipolar. There is some really dark ripping chainsaw metal versus oh great we found the light kind of stuff. I have a simple, yet very fun fingerstyle of Bill Cheatham (traditional bluegrass) that is completed. The Marty Friedman album Inferno comes out in May. I play on the song Horrors which features me playing acoustic parts written by both Jason Becker and Marty Friedman. I am counting down the days like a chocolate Christmas calendar. I am still always looking for traditional music that hits the spot for guitar (multitracked, or fingerstyle solo). Any suggestions of traditional songs that I could check out (ones that did not appear on World Candies) are always welcome. If I dont use a particular song from a country, it doesnt mean I dont like it, it just means that I didnt find the way to play it on guitar that I think could do it any justice.
