Ok, since there are far too many of you to actually tag in this post, I am going to rely on word of mouth to pass this information along. Here goes... Update as of 3:05am on Mary Mura. Let me first say that Bob is 100% correct and she is in excellent care here at Duke and is doing fine right now. Banged up and broken a bit but no worse for the wear. She has a butterfly fracture to the top of her femur which will require traction and then surgery to correct. Traction is being done with a noninvasive Bucks boot to avoid any complications which may arise from her thin blood. She may have an additional fracture in her knee which they are checking for now. She also has a fractured clavicle which will require her to be in a sling for a bit so it would seem that crutches will not be an option for the foreseeable future. As for her surgery to repair her femur, it is simply a waiting game for the multitude of doctors and specialists who have and are lending their knowledge and expertise to this procedure to get her blood levels to where they are comfortable with proceeding with surgery. There have been differing opinions as to when that will be. We have heard as early as tomorrow morning or Friday/Saturday. It all depends on a LOT of general consensus amongst a LOT of different doctors. (The subtext there would be read C.Y.A.) She is resting fairly comfortably and have installed a pain pump for her to control. She will go into traction shortly and be transferred to a room. I will pass that along to everyone as soon as she is settled. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Its nice to see all the peoples lives that are touched by our mother. Updates to follow... Love, The Muras
