Ok so I have received messages, phone calls from relatives and school and college mates laughing at and abusing the movement. A reply to those, if I may :) A girl was molested in our campus on a fest night. She must have been wearing short clothes. She must have been drunk. Yes, we were at tremendous fault to demand for a proper enquiry committee for it. Good apolitical students should never demand. Always take what your given. Yes, it was our fault that instead of sleeping peacefully at home and studying for exams, we were sitting on campus for 150 hours, singing.Good apolitical students just study, not sing in the middle of the night. Yes it was our fault we Sensationalized the whole thing on social media by facebook activism and a laughable hashtag #hokkolorob.Stupid, stupid us, right? Yes, it was our fault we slept on the floor, demanding the committee, letting the authorities walk over us. How dare we? Where were the garlands and biriyani packets for the VC who spent hours in an AC room calling up the police? How dare we sing songs and chant slogans, putting the VC at mortal peril? We sing so badly that he might just die out of disgust! We ought to be arrested for our attempt to kill him with the vicious songs. Yes, it was our fault that we were protesting apolitically while our parents had sent us there to study. Just study, k? Yes, it was our fault that on the night of 17th September 2014, the police beat up the students to pulp. Students shouldnt go to hospitals for broken bones. Its just a small issue. Yes it was our fault that students were taken into custody. Never go to custody. You are not Gandhiji! You are not a revolutionary. Why were you in custody? You must have beaten the police. You must have. How dare you attack a bunch of chappal clad goons and ganji clad policemen with songs and violins? How dare you? How dare you mobilize thousands of other students and walk on the streets? Good apolitical students dont walk. They sit at home and study. Good apolitical students dont gather armies. How dare we? Yes, we dared. We are a bunch of hooligaans and terrorizing force who want an answer. We want an answer for the girl. We want an answer for those spending nights in hospitals and jails. We have risen for the 17th of September, and we will rise again, and again, and again. We want an answer. When will you give us one? Till then, #hokkolorob
