Ok, so every time youre performing an exercise try this simple change...ASK YOURSELF WHY dont just copy what someone else is doing because we dont know what other people are training for...are they trying to bring up a particular lagging body part, or they might be working around an injury...so never assume, always research and understand the whys behind everything you do :-) For me particularly I like to elevate my lumbar and gluteus to activate and isolate the gluteus max and keep my feet in slight abduction to engage my gluteus min and med as well, which for me are proportionally weaker, which limits the exterior rotation of my legs resulting in tighter hip flexors...so just little ways to correct imbalances :) Oh yes, and go LOW, SLOW AND DONT LOCK KNEES OUT AT TOP! The minute this happens you loose muscle contraction and you joints start working as opposed to your muscles :-)
