Ok so its been a long time since i wrote one of these super deep posts or whatever, so here goes. And if you dont like these rants you dont have to read it :P OK.. so i guess this is appropriately timed, since it is the beginning of the school year, and everyone is choosing classes and whatnot. I had a conversation with a friend about classes to take, and we agreed that sometimes, taking too many classes wont do you any good. yeah i know i know im not a college counselor/anyone like that but i still think that sometimes people just try to take a whole bunch of classes, and not just a lot of them, but all of the hardest classes. But hey, if you can do that, then you rock and i respect you. But your job is to challenge yourself, not break yourself. Only you know your limits. If you look at your schedule, and say to yourself I cant do this DONT BE ASHAMED. like jeez. dont feel like it makes you look stupid. Choosing to drop down a level in a class might even be the smarter choice in some cases. If you are taking a lot of classes and one just stands out to you, lets say APChem, for example. You know Chemistry is not your good subject, and it will be a struggle. that isnt a problem. But, if you are taking a lot of other classes that you enjoy and want to excel in, and you are passionate about, then it might be a problem. You could potentially spend too much time working on that APChem course, just too keep it at a decent grade, therefore not spending enough time on the classes you really care about. thats just wrong. if there are classes that you really care about and want to excel in, dont do something that could hinder you. especially if its just for that extra grade bump. Why? Because what if you do excel in those classes that you are really passionate about, and you neglect the APChem cause my god that class is just so impossible. What happens then? your precious gpa or whatever will go down because of it. So why shouldnt you just take the easier class? or a different one? im not saying cutting down on everything, but maybe, choosing too many isnt a smart choice. I see so many people trying to pack in as many classes as possible, taking classes they have no interest in, sacrificing the classes that they are genuinely interested in just for the AP label on it, or the honors label on it. And you know what? if you take too many hard courses and you drop down on one or a few or how many you take, ROCK IT. If you change your schedule, whether it be up or down, because you think that is the right decision, then yeah. i love you. Only you know how much you can do. there is nothing wrong with saying i cant do this or this is too difficult That also reminds me (god this might be really long sorry guys for keeping up with me wow i love you all) but i noticed that a lot of people have trouble admitting when they dont understand. I, for one, dont care. I can say I HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN and be totally fine with it. I dont think it makes me look stupid, cause it doesnt. it shows that hey, i genuinely want to get better at something and understand. And who knows? maybe everyone else doesnt get it either. and if everyone gets it and you dont, well you are doing yourself a favor. Now you understand and thats better in the long run. I can say that I volunteered my opinion in Detective Fiction about a theory, and i was TOTALLY WRONG. and thats fine. Many people are afraid about people seeing that they messed up, but who cares? really. I dont care. im sure that you dont care. and if you dont care, why care what others think? oh isnt there a quote Be who you are and say what you feel, for those who mind dont matter, and those who matter, dont mind thats all. I love you all
