Ok.......so like.........anybody that knows me......knows how I like to tell the stories of my life.........so Im going to enlighten my friends on what we (my mom, sister Karen and myself) went through after leaving the Cleveland Clinic last night after getting Dad all snuggled his room. Keep reading cuz this is a long story!!!! After calling what seemed to be hundreds of hotels during the afternoon and evening, looking for an available room for the night, we were told by a nice nurse that we might b able to get a room at the Days Inn in Lakewood, where she lived. AND it was only about 15min from Clev Clinic!!!! Yay us...right? Thats what we thot!!! I called the hotel and the clerk amazingly had one room avail.....(she told me she had to do some switching around). I told her we needed ground level cuz of Moms walker OR an elevator.....no steps. We left the hospital about 8pm. I put the hotel address in Glorias navigation system.....(Gloria is my car for those of you that dont know that). While driving to the hotel we watched the AMAZING lightening show in the sky. We followed Glorias instructions. After about 17min of driving she told us we were at our destination and stopped the guidance.......now remember its dark AND now starting to rain. Neither one of us could find a Days Inn ANYWHERE in sight!!!!!!!!We kept driving. I turned onto the next street and started driving back the way we came..... We called the hotel and she told me we were going the wrong way and we turned around. NOW its down pouring....OMG! My phone rang.....its Joel.....he says your lost arent u? Lol!!!!! Yes he was tracking me thru my phone! Im pretty stressed out by this time. We stopped so I could put the freakin address in AGAIN only to find out that were WERE GOING THE RIGHT WAY!!!! Ok.....we finally found the freakin hotel. The freakin sign was a very low to the ground sign AND 1/2 the lights were freakin out!!! We pull up to the front door (no awning) & yes its still raining! OMG......theres 3steps to go up......hmmmmmmmm. We get Mom inside w/her walker and oxygen.....only to b stared at by a foreign dude that was hangin with the desk clerk, the clerk that didnt know directions OR what the hell freakin steps were!!!!! The horrible odor about knocked us over when we walked in! It was freakin musty.....freakin smoky......freakin filthy!!!! She shows us the room and I told her that we cannot stay becuz of the odors. When we were trying to get Mom back down the non existent steps.....a wanna b rocker, long black greasy haired gothic thing wearing a black mesh 1/2 ripped shirt walked towards us and stared at US....like we were the odd ones!!!!!!!!! We couldnt get out of there fast enough. (Joel tmd me later to tell me that Lakewood is the place where that freakin psychotic kept those 3 hostage in his basement!!! OMFG!!!! )We sat in the drive calling more hotels only to find out the same thing......they were ALL freakin booked or well over $200/nite!!!! So we just wanted to get the freakin hell out of Dodge! At least the rain had let up!!!!! I said.....we r going to Independence hopefully finding a vacancy! I know Im long winded......stay with me.........we got to Rockside Rd and saw a very fancy McDonalds (w/chandeliers) the opposite way of where we were to turn (not what we really wanted to eat) but pulled in and Gloria kept freakin telling me to make a freakin legal U turn.....is there such a thing??? Lol! Gloria and I got into a freakin shouting match!!!! I yelled........SHUT THE HELL UP GLORIA!!!!!!!!!! Karen said I should have yanked her dashboard out and taken a freakin hammer to her....LOL! We pulled around to order. We got Mom fries but no orange juice cuz the freakin machine was freakin broke!!!!! After sitting in the Holiday Inn parking lot for 45min calling more hotels ....we drove to Red Roof Inn..........they were on the balconies partying w/loud music. We drove to the Comfort Inn and FOUND A VACANCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its now 11pm............OMFG!!! And to think we didnt want to drive all the way back home and all the way back in the morning. We were freakin exhausted......not to mention freakin hungry!!!! We get in our jammies and try to unwind. Lights r now out and we r trying to get rest......so........Moms oxygen tank runs out in the middle of the night!!!!! OMG!!!!! Luckily we had an extra tank w/us!!! We might have gotten about 2.25 hrs of sleep last night! Boy were we starving this morning!! I think we licked our plates at Dennys when we were done eating!!!! Lol!!!!!
