Ok, so this morning on my drive into work, I got to thinking about blessings from God. Yes, I know, some of you dont believe in God or dont think that God blesses you enough or at all. I want to share some things with all of you that are truly blessings from God that you receive daily! Please endulge me. 1. Some people complain about waking up with the alarm and having to get up out of bed. First off, how many people didnt wake up this morning? How many lives were lost over night? If you woke up, God gave you another day to do so. Second, how many people, who woke up this morning, couldnt get out of their bed? How many are bed-ridden in hospitals, nursing homes, or in their own homes? If you got out of bed today, God blessed you. Lastly, we sometimes grumble that we have to get out of our warms beds, especially on days like today. How in the world is that a blessing you may ask? You got out of a warm bed after all. But, how many people dont have a warm bed to crawl out of? Or a roof over their head? If you have these things, you have been blessed by God! 2. The next thing a lot of us do is shower or take a bath. Such a pain, right? But again, we were able to do these things. Those bed-ridden or without shelter cant do those things on a daily, or even on a monthly, basis. God has blessed us with the ability to do this. 3. What in the world am I going to have for breakfast now? I mean, theres nothing in the cabinets or the fridge, right? Well, yeah, theres that box of cereal in the pantry. And yeah, theres milk in the fridge. Theres even eggs in the fridge and a loaf of bread. Of course, theres butter in the fridge too. Many of us wave that off because it takes too much time. I promise there is someone out there this morning who had absolutely NOTHING in their panty this morning. In the fridge was a bit of milk that was beginning to sour. The bread has gone moldy and the butter ran out weeks ago. So, those inconveniences that we blew off this morning were blessings from God. 4. Sure, some of us can stop by a fast food place, maybe a convenience store or a coffee shop and grab something to eat and drink. We have jobs that put money into our pockets. Money that is needed for things like rent, food, utilities, the mandatory cell phones with more power and gadgets than the first home PCs. Have to also pay for gas in the car or pay for a cab to get to work. Maybe we need money to pay for cable and internet at home. God has blessed us with the means for these monetary things. But Kevin, I am the one that busts my butt for this money. I am the one that earns this money. I isnt just given to me. And youre correct. You are the person that puts in the hours and labor for the pay. But its by Gods grace and blessings that you are capable to do this. Remember the person that is bed-ridden, disabled, homeless for whatever reason. God blesses them in different ways. But at this moment in time, He has blessed you with the ability to earn that income. I could go on and on, listing the blessings that we receive daily. Take time to truly examine all the blessing you are given daily and thank God for all of them. There are days that I could grumble about things that are physically wrong with me. But I have a FB friend in Wyoming that also has MS who is just a few yrs older than me. He takes 27 pills daily along with an injection to help slow the progress of the effects of MS. And also wears a medical patch daily to help slow the progression of dementia that has been caused by MS. And yet he praises God daily for another day, for the ability to help other MS patients get through tough times. He thanks God for the blessing of having MS because he gets to help others. So my situation looks great. I thank God daily for every blessing, seen and unseen, great and small. Thank you for listening to me today. I hope that Ive helped at least one person today!!
