Ok, take two. WARNING Subjectivist trolls who attempt to derail the thread will be deleted and blocked. Given self ownership, is retribution moral? Forget DROs and contracts. It seems to me that if self defense is moral and defending others is moral, proportional retribution must also be moral. A guy murders someone. Does this act effectively nullify/forfeit his selfownership because he now owes a life he cannot pay? If not, how can one morally justify ANY action other than ostracism (which will result in more murders)?
