Ok, this will be a bit of a catch up post. My apologies ahead of time it seems all over the place. Well, that time is near folks, Macy will soon be done with chemotherapy. She officially started her last cycle on Nov. 3rd, and instead of 16 weeks, it is a 10 week cycle. This go round did include some changes to dosages, which made her a bit more tired, but other than that no other side effects. Macy started this round with Vincristine, a week of Decadron (the horrible steroid), followed by another dose of Vincristine this Monday. Then this Super Girl took on another round of IVIG on Tuesday, and after spending the week on IV meds, was freed from Rosie (her nickname for the IV pump) on Friday. Macy doesnt understand she is at the very end of treatment. This road seems to be unending, so it is often that I am having to remind her that she is close. She has a calendar with the date marked, but still doesnt understand time. To me, it is right around the corner. To her, it is still the long distance goal line that she just cant see is coming. Oh how I remember I too felt that way. At the time of diagnosis, the 6 month mark, and then again at the 1 year mark, I too couldnt see the finish line and was forced to focus on my God to have peace. I cant even tell you how many times I asked Him how much longer. So now its my turn to calm those questions in my Macy, often times by leading her in prayer. Its a sweet thing for the soul when you hear a small childs prayer. Thank you for all of your prayers. It is the prayers of many that have helped us the past 2 years. God is good! We love you!
