Ok we are 1 mnth away from Ramadan again please for the love of Allaah can we not argue about how it starts for the past so many years we have posted over 100 times how ramadan is determined and when it starts. 29th night of Shabaan we check for the new moon if seen then we fast the next day and make intention that night if not seen then next day is 30th of Shabaan and following day is Day 1 of Ramadan. Remember to deteemine Ramadan and The Eid is based on seeing the New Moon thats what The Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said so thats the first and final ruling no other ruling. If you want to follow The Madh-habs this is their ruling - Imams Abu Haneefah Maalik and Ahmad say If 1 country sees the Qamar ( The New Moon Crescent ) then every country is to fast. Imam Shaafiee says - Every City has their own viewing of the crescent to follow but at the end of the day they are both following the Hadeeth its just their interpretation. So what do we do in Sydney although none are wrong but follow the majority so we can all fast and do eid together.
