Ok – I have ……finally…..added the class for Sunday 5:00 pm Sept. 15…..Bolero……!!! Frequently called the “Dance of Love” it is a slow & rhythmic dance , with a dreamy, romantic tempo…! Sorry for the short notice …but there are so many dances to choose from ….and trying to decide what to add to the calendar & when is always a challenge…….! And with Holidays quickly approaching …….we want to offer all the dances we feel you will use at your upcoming Holiday Parties…..! Now …the classes we have on Tuesdays….. Ranchera & Cumbia and HUSTLE One Night Class in Ranchera & Cumbia – the two main styles for Tejano Dancing…..we have taught these styles throughout the years and there seems to be new interest as we have recently had some Wonderful Tejano Bands here at the Ballroom. Next Tuesday will be a One Night Class to get you jump started & for those that just cannot make 4 week class sessions….. but then we will offer a 4 week class starting Oct. 1 at 8:00. Ranchera is a partner dance that moves around the floor and has lots of neat turns & tricks. You glide around the floor…! Cumbia can be danced with a partner with lots of tricks or as a line dance …..lots of wiggle in this one….! And for the Ballroom Dancers ......lots of the moves you already know from Foxtrot & Progressive Two Step will carries over to these dance styles….. AND…..we have been asked for Hustle recently ……so it is on the schedule at 7:00 on Tuesdays starting Oct. 1 A fun dance – actually pretty simple footwork with lots of variations on tricks…..you can borrow from some of your East Coast Swing patterns…& interchanges well with lots of West Coast Swing and some Cha Cha music. With Origins in the 70’s and all the great Disco Music it just gives you a good feeling when you dance it….! Working on the rest of October……so if you have any requests send them to me now…..!!!
