Okay. Enough is enough. Its time for an education. People! If it has four wheels, it is NOT a bike. It is an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle), a four wheeler (self explanatory), or even a quad (stemming from the Latin word for four). Bike is a shortened form of bicycle (bi from the Latin bis meaning two and cycle from the Greek cyclos meaning circle). Thats right! Two circles, not four. When I was a child, people seemed to know this but it, somehow, seems to have been forgotten along with a large number of other bits of information that were once considered common sense. When a person refers to a quad as a bike, it leaves me with the impression that the individual is unable to count. For those of you who knew this: Hats off to you. For the rest of you now educated people: go forth and enjoy sharing this newly acquired knowledge!
