Okay Funkadelic fans time for a bit of soul searching and to be honest with ourselves. Nothing wrong with a trap beat, but ask yourself if Funkadelic wasnt the one behind this track, would you still bump it, or would you think okay this is just like everything else thats out these days? The concept of Free your mind is not one that George created, even if he was the legend that coined the phrase Free Your Mind, and Your ass will follow... So with that says, there may be a time to even Free your mind from Funkadelic itself, because the concept is bigger than any one group, person or man. I havent heard all 33 tracks on the new album yet, some stuff sounds cool, and I understand the need to stay relevant, but I think Funkadelic can still be ground breaking, rather than trying to show they can keep up with modern styles, when so many modern styles were influenced by them in the first place. Funkadelic could have an album just as provocative as Dangelos new album. As much as Dre sampled them back in the day alone, I always wonder what stopped him from simply putting out a modern Funkadelic album, but who knows what the full story is on that, and why the songs George did with Outkast were not released. https://youtube/watch?v=UPHwSgdwbqA
