Okay, for any of you other folks that might have a partial and have had to use that Reline stuff to make it fit right again, that stuff BURNS when you put it in your mouth! The smell was like fingernail polish remover. Really?! I felt like I was doing a science experiment. Mix the tube of horrendous liquid with the innocent looking pink powder. If you are still conscious after sniffing the vapor while you stir it together with the little wooden stick (which I was sure would catch on fire) you scoop it out of the little flimsy plastic container and into your partial. And as Im doing this, feeling partly smart that I did it correctly and mostly stupid because I was about to put this into my mouth, Im thinking, seriously, youre not going to put this into... And I watch my hand in slow motion come towards my face with this pink, goopy mess and wonder at the last moment if anyone has suffered brain damage from the vapors. My head says. Do it! My mouth says, are you freakin crazy?! In it goes and I close my teeth together, my fingers still in the corners of my mouth. I think that liquid had to be pepper spray because immediately my mouth is on fire along with the corners of my mouth! I cant breathe through my nose because of the smell, my eyes are watering, Im drooling this stuff down the front of my shirt and hissing to breathe. And Im supposed to keep this in my mouth for like a minute, yeah right! Im already hopping from foot to foot, fingers in mouth, squinting, eyes pouring, hissing like a snake and my mouth feeling like I had just drank hot lava. What a sight I must be. I couldnt do it any longer and took it out after what seemed like an eternity but was really like ten seconds. And as I sit here and type this, my partial sits in another room, putting off vapors that will probably peel paint off the walls. Riley could smell it in the bedroom and hid under the covers yelling, Ewww, whats that smell?? That, my dear, is the smell of I should have gone to the dentist and let them do it and itll probably be a few days before I go out in public, at least until the vapor subsides. For now, I think Ill just munch on some Sonic ice.
