Okay, friends. Discussion time! Angie Stanley made a great point in tonights service that unchurched people look at Christians and say, I know what youre AGAINST, but I dont know what youre FOR! I want you to look at this video clip from the movie Mrs. Doubtfire and see the similarities between The Church and this potential nanny. That is how The Church is doing things. Its always against this and against that. What are we FOR?! Ill tell you what IM for! Im for helping an individual who has suffered a lifetime of abuse and showing them that they dont have to live with that hurt their entire life. Im for reaching out to a community of individuals who are struggling and being the hands and feet of Jesus. Im for doing whatever it takes to show the love of Christ to a lost and dying world. Heres where the discussion comes in. HOW DO WE DO THIS? How do we transition from what we are AGAINST to what we are FOR? Ive always been taught that we need to focus on positives instead of negatives. The same goes for The Church. Im not asking anyone to give up sound, Biblical truth to attract people to a watered-down theology. Im asking The Church to lay aside useless, petty traditions that are deep rooted in opinion and habit to reach someone with Jesus. How do we do that, though? Thoughts? youtu.be/WULm2C-ifcY
