Okay guys, Ive watched (and shared already) a couple of these videos that discuss converting waste plastics into oil(s). My question for any/all of you is.. Given the amount of fuel it would produce (from plastic waste/trash) what is the offset of power that the produced oil would be able to provide compaired to the amount of energy (heating source, flame, etc.) that would be needed to convert the plastics to a gas which is then condensed and separates from the water (due to viscosity and/or the difference in density) between oil and water. I am asking if the energy USED to convert the plastic waste into oil is greater or lower than the ammount of energy which can be obtained then FROM the oil which is created (refined) through this process. The concern pertaining the carbon waste from buring a fuel to generate the amount of heat needed to convert and separate the oils from the plastics is also an issue Im trying to review. Basically, Im saying this all sounds great and all, but it equates to (or so it would seem) to be nothing more than generating a fuel source via a means of using energy that the produced fuel source is spent (burnt) in order to heat up the plastics to a temperature which would convert it into the very source which is being used to heat it up in order to refine it. Am I making sense to anyone here? Or, does this seem to be a modern revitalization/realization of that old theory of relativity where by every has a beginning and and end, and there is no cration NOR loss of energy, rather ONLY a change of state OF the energy, as well as ones perspective and/or interpretation OF what energy is? ::sigh:: ... good grief, I just re read my post before posting it, and now even I am confused with MYSELF! (LOL) Comments, thoughts, and/or ideals anyone???
