Okay, so I have a pretty cool story to tell. It all hit me while I was in a.......state of... ummmmmm.....something. This one REALLY blows my mind actually. This is completely tru and Im going to tag the people involved so they can see any significance to this, as I do. Annnnnd... I need help remembering a name or two. So, here it is. Around this time in 2011, I had a job at a Restaurant called Whym Whymnyc on 9th Avenue in Manhattan. There, I met two people that I immediately became friends with. One being Vincent Leggett, the other is a girl (later to be named with the help of Vincent... the chic that had Teddy Roosevelt in his wheelchair all tatted on her leg, what was her name??... thanks Vince.) Anyway, come to find out... this girl that is training me, starts asking me where Im from. I tell her Staunton, VA. She says No shit?!... I went to school in Charlottesville. Later, we discover she is friends with one of my good hometown Staunton friends because they went to school together! So I met this stranger whom I have ONE mutual friend with... in the middle of the biggest city in the whole world (land mass)!!! Okay, a couple of weekends ago, I went to a friends house for her Birthday party. She introduces me to her boyfriend John Parrott, and Ive never met this dude in my life. Hes playin guitar when we met. Which is cool because I like to play a little guitar. And I do mean a little Well, right off the bat... I find this dude to be pretty rad. Then we find musical interests after he drops NIN and Tool on the gadgets. And those are my two favoritebands- Mainly because of their musical AND visual arts asthetic, during the alternative metal movement going on in the early to late 90s. The creativity, experimental sounds, hard hitting get the f#@% outta my face! beats, riffs, and hellacious precussion elements, all too real and slightly philisophical song-writing. Maynard James Keenen once said in his early interviews>> ...use us as a catalyst in your process of finding out whatever it is you need to find out, or whatever it is youre trying to achieve. And I sure as hell did! Maynard in my opinion, was a lyrical genius. Trent, on the other hand was curious like an engineer would be. Hes like a mad scientist brewing up life threatening concoctions in the dungeon. Later to be the primary inspiration in all of my musical pursuits and creations. He was my release... since 1989. All NIN fans know what I mean. Now, Im all jacked. Start layin down some shots and we break loose with a Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody sing-a-long, ummmmm... vocal PERFORMANCE in the middle of the kitchen. Havin a blast. Okay... the other day John posted some random video on his wall. I noticed that Vincent... from NYC>> liked the post?!!!! Immediately, I was like hold up.... whaaaaa? So I asked John if he knew Vincent, the guy that just liked his post, because if he did... how strange is it that were all linked somehow?! He tells me that he and Vinny worked together in Atlanta. Which is where Jon was born. Strangely enough... I was too. Vincent is an actor and studies the arts. Jon is a musician- we just met so im still brushing up. I am too, as well as an artist of various sorts and a practicing hair-stylist off and on. My friend Jacquie from my hometown is a theatrical dancer and an actor. If Im not mistaken, the no-name chic (for now), that Vincent and I worked with, did the same sort of thing because her and Jacquie went to school together and had mutual studies and classes together... or something like that. Which leads me to ask myself this question, over and over again... WHAT THE HELL DOES IT ALL MEAN?!?!?! Could it all be just a huge coincidence??? Every person in this story is creative, talented, good-hearted, inspired, open-minded, intelligent strangers that happen to cross paths in a pre-determined type of manner. More-So for Vincent, John and myself. Im wondering what the significance with Atlanta is... and why we all know each other from other locations, but dont REALLY know each other... and then, just NOW discovering after a span of 3 years that we were all to meet again... at ONCE... ON A FACEBOOK WALL POST. Tell me thats not an interesting story??????????!!!!. OOOOOOOF, I should have save that shit for my book!! Damnit.
