Okay, so here is my big news. Please read and share. The house and property that I rent and run the Love Shack Dog Rescue out of has been sold for development. It goes to closing November 14. This has been going on for a while, I actually have been fortunate to remain here this long. There is no way I can stay in Loudoun county. Its way too expensive, and between zoning and Animal Control, well, it just aint happening. So I thought I would give up doing rescue. Well, that just aint happening. Then, something pretty amazing fell into my lap. I have the opportunity to purchase a couple of acres with a little house not far off Route 50 in Hampshire county, West Virginia. I have already discussed starting a rescue with Hampshire county, and they are all for it, unlike here where they work against me. I am looking to have indoor facilities for all the dogs, as well as 10x20 day runs for each of them to hang out in, partially covered with a dog house. Then several big runs for supervised play groups, like I have now. I have to do this project pretty much all at once, because I need to move all the dogs at once and be totally out of here in 3 months. I can certainly improve on things later, but I cant take two years getting it all together like I did here. Im going to need help. A little help with the move, but a lot more financial help then I have ever reached out for. In order to cover the down payment, the move, and the supplies/materials I will still need, I will be short $7,900. Thats a lot if help to ask for, but 8 grand for a good sized no kill shelter is a pretty darn good deal! I am really excited, but I cant sign on the contract without knowing if I can make it work, or there are going to be 40 dogs without a home. I am asking for really solid pledges. Not to be paid until after I have the contract on the house, which could be as soon as three weeks from now. If everybody who can commit would pledge, and absolutely everybody would share, this could be a really great thing. Ideas for fundraisers too, but remember I have VERY little available time and this needs to be accomplished right away. Can you help me raise $7900 to continue saving lives? I have pulled over 150 dogs off the PTS lists in under two years. I think I can do even better if I get this place. I will continue to commute to the area daily, so if you are a client you are NOT going to lose me. I will also keep doing adoption events here as well, as the dog care in this area is stellar and I love the people I have been working with.
