Who can best articulate the need for Change or Pagbabago, but the one who went through the sufferings, pain and has overcome fear. Fr. Benjamin Alforque, MSC delivered his homily to SHED Members in the Eucharistic Celebration commemorating SHEDs first annual gathering. “To end poverty, we must address both the spiritual and material needs of the poor.” Empowering the poor through the breeding of the WORD OF GOD plus MICROFINANCE, or a Transformed Microfinance (TMF) . . is the Veritable Tool that will end poverty. To succeed, the Laity’s alliance with the Universal Church is crucial. This will create the synergy to inspire Civil Society plus Government to make possible the grand dream to end poverty. The photo on the Boodle Fight captures this spirit. The Boodle Fight, from SHEDs perspective, symbolizes the community spirit in the huge fight against poverty. This is captured in SHEDs first annual event to celebrate relationships within the SHED campaign to end poverty. Pagbabago or Change which is the theme for the event was well articulated in the homily by Fr. Ben Alforque, MSC. Fr. Ben exhorted the SHED community to continue to march on to the calling for Change in a collective campaign to end the misery of humanity. Event held on August 21, 2014 at the compound of the Communications Foundation for Asia (CFA) at Old Sta. Mesa Street, City of Manila.
