Okay so today I decided to try my hand at homemade dog food (to add into their grain-free kibble each meal) ... let me start by saying my husband will freak out when he sees my afternoon project (since my dogs now eat better than my family - lol) ... anyway, in case anyone is interested in knowing what is in it ... I used 1/2 lb browned ground meat (you can use turkey, chicken, pork, lamb, beef, etc) then mixed in boiled-soft-and-mashed sweet potatoes & apples then added some chopped kale (photo 2) ... when ready to serve, I added in frozen mixed veggies and their daily supplements (Missing Link small breed, pumpkin powder, organic EV coconut oil) & added a pinch of tumeric ... I froze 7 containers worth so I can make a batch at a time (photo 1 -- each container has 1/2 lb raw meat, chopped kale, and a scoop of the sweet potato/apple-mash mixture) -- then I can just brown the meat and add the kale to cook and add frozen mixed veggies (mine are picky they only like frozen) and add it all to their kibble each meal ... devoured within minutes (pic 3 is ready to eat) -- ps -- not sure how many meals the 1/2 lb of meat-mixture will last my two young pups since its the first time Ive made this so you may want to adjust portions to suit your needs ...
