Okay, this is utterly, completely self-indulgent, but I love this review. Not because he got what I was going for with mixing genres; not because he summed up how I approached magic well; not even because he basically gushed all over the place about my first book. I love it because of the effect the book had on him as he describes it in the beginning of the review. Because that feeling? Ive had *that exact same feeling* more times than I can count. I get it -- I get is SO much. And to have someone say my book did that to them? *shivers* But mostly, I love this review to death because I tells me I did something right. I inspired someone. I made them want to work harder and do better than me. Which is something you hope for like hell as an artist -- to be able to help fire/nurture the spark in someone else -- but have absolutely have zero control over. Its just about the highest praise I can think of, and something you rarely get to know about it. To pass on the spark like it was passed on to me? Awesome beyond words.
