Olaitan Gets Oliseh’s Praise Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Ogorchukwu Oliseh has added his voice to the roll call of accolades flowing for Olympiakos of Greece fast-rising youngster, Michael Olaitan, following his superlative performance in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League win against Manchester United of England. Although Olaitan, who has scored ten Greek Super League goals for Olympiakos this season, could not get his name on the cards of scorers in the 2-0 spanking of visiting United Tuesday night, Oliseh says the 21-year-old lad is ready for the World Cup. Olaitan was involved in Olympiakos’ second goal of the night by the Greek club’s loan-signing Arsenal of England, Trinidad and Tobago star, Joel Campbell in the 55th minute. Incidentally, Olaitan is not on the list of Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi for next week’s international friendly against Mexico, but many observers believe it is just a matter of time before the Flying Eagles squad member to last year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey is called to the senior squad. One of such is Oliseh, who is already looking far ahead and predi8cted that the attacking-midfielder could gate crash the Eagles’ mainframe and be part of Nigeria’s World Cup party this summer in Brazil. Oliseh, while making his views known through his Twitter handle, hailed the youngster’s performance on the night and passed a bold verdict that Olaitan is ready for the World Cup in June. Olaitan impresses me every time. He has shown so much maturity and if he can play this way versus Man U, he is definitely ready for Brazil 2014, Oliseh tweeted.
