Olivia and Knox update: Hi Friends and Family, First and foremost the babies are growing strong everyday and they each have gained a pound since birth. Olivia is up to 3lbs 11oz and her little brother Knox is now 3lbs 8oz. Olivia has started one bottle a day and is becoming a little chunky monkey. Knox is completely off the CPAP machine but is on a high flow of oxygen. The amazing NICU team and at Cedars are trying different things to start weaning him off it, which is part of the process. He is feisty and fighter, in fact, the doctors call him Superman. We are so sorry for the lack of updates lately, as the NICU experience is a roller coaster so are our emotions. Each day is a marathon and by the end the most we can do is hit the pillow. A week ago for the first time ever I was able to hold them at the same time. The very SECOND they both were on my chest they found each others hands and held hands the rest of the time. They also immediately started communicating with each other, both making sounds we’d never heard them make, clearly having twin talk! We have this on video and will share at some point. Their connection is magical. We appreciate all the love and support very much and humbly ask you to continue your prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes for the babies and our family. Its working, and it is a true miracle they have come this far in 5 and a half weeks. While they still have some time left at the hospital, we are thankful they are in the best place possible! We can’t thank you all enough for supporting us during the most difficult time of our lives, and we couldnt have done it without all of you. All our love, gratitude and appreciation.
