Olumba Obu Doles Out Jeeps, Millions to Faithfuls Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, Leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, has given out brand new vehicles to some of his faithfuls who are said to be hardworking and devoted.At a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Church at the weekend the spiritual leader donated a brand new jeep to Pastor Odudu Isaac Udo, a pioneer chairman of International Youth Fellowship, which is an arm of the organization.He also appreciated Bishops Jonnie Ikpeme and Joe Dike, one time spokesman and Director of Mass Media Evangelism in the fold with brand new jeeps.To enable the three lucky beneficiaries fuel the vehicles for at least a year, Obu also gave out about N500, 000 to them.Two others that were given other brand of cars included Brother Ene Eyo who heads one of the bodies of fultime priests, called Senior Christ’s Servants as well as Deaconess Regina Ibanga For these two, Obu presented them with Sienna cars during the 55th anniversary celebrations of the Men and Women’s Fellowships of the fold.A statement from the church said the exercise is a continuation of the empowerment program that began last year.“Last year, at a ceremony tagged ‘Mother’s Glorification’ to honor his late mother, Madam Elizabeth Esu Obu, the spiritual leader had also presented his younger sister, Princess Onugen Obu with a jeep.“Before the presentation of the vehicles, he had personally doled out about ten Million Naira to empower 30 other devoted adherents.Each received sums ranging from N200, 000 to N400, 000 during an event tagged Ambo Music Award Nite as a way of empowerment and appreciation for diligent services.“Some of the recipients included SCS Imo Umoh alias Imoke, Innocent Ating, Danny Digitiemie, Wisdom Eteng”.The leader said he would continue to guarantee scholarship to any level of education to the 69 motherless and abandoned children which he is caring for at Mother Elizabeth Redeemed Children Home.Obu who is also the chairman of the Brotherhood Executive Council used the opportunity to disclaim the paramount ruler of Biase local government, Chief Nicholas Odun who was reported to be the official representative of the founder and sponsor of the fold, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu in Cross River State.Obu said, “I do not know him. My father appointed Pastor Mike Ntuk as his official and only representative in all matters in Cross River State.”
