Omar Abdullah talks tough: Calls for strong response to Pakistan - Firstpost At a time when Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in the United States seeking its intervention to resolve the Kashmir dispute, Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that the Centre must give a fitting reply to the neighbouring nation if talks weren’t yielding the desired result. PTI “The Centre should look at other options if talks are not helping put an end to ceasefire violations along the LoC,” Abdullah said on Monday. “It cannot be a one sided affair, we can’t be at the receiving end without giving any response,” he said. Stating that he wouldn’t accept any third party intervention in Kashmir, Abdullah targetted Sharif saying the government cannot stay silent despite the continuous attacks. “Pakistan PM is guilty of playing to his home audience. I don’t understand whether the Pakistani Prime Minister is involved in this (ceasefire violations) or whether he has no control on what’s happening in his country,” Abdullah said. On Sunday, Sharif, while speaking to reporters in London, said it was important that world powers help India and Pakistan resolve the Kashmir dispute. “Though India does not want it — world powers should get involved to resolve the Kashmir issue. The world powers should do so as India and Pakistan both were nuclear powers and the region was a nuclear flash point,” he had said. Meanwhile, Pakistan forces reportedly violated the ceasefire for the eight time in 24 hours with reports of firing on at least five forward posts of the Border Security Force along the International Border. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde is expected to visit the state and some border areas in the wake of the spurt in ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces. KLik Baca selanjutnya : ift.tt/181tZrT
