On Facebook there is a culture. Its the Culture of Feel Good. If you post an unfeelgood moment or event, something sobering or realistic, something that is not a puppy/baby/kitten moment, there is a deafening silence, as evidenced by LIKES an and SHARES. The Facebook Algorithm is rigged for FEEL GOOD. (Is that like, um, an opiate of the masses?) Ebola is not a popular topic on FB. Nor is anything that shows that we are globally unsustainable in our human occupation of planet earth. No wonder environment crisis articles and posts die on the FB vine. I am one of the worst offenders. I post spiritually uplifting truths. But that does not mean I dont also see that we have a sick mother earth, asking us to see that her body, is our body. I watched a video today featuring physicist F. David Peat,. who reminds us in his journey to reclaim ancestral and indigenous wisdom, that when we remember their is no OTHER, when we live as if we are One, then the world can begin to heal.
